“Autumn, the year’s last, loveliest smile.” ~William Cullen Bryant
As the Fall season arrives, I find that time seems to slow, and memories rise to the surface and linger. It’s a bittersweet sort of feeling, bringing with it sensations of nostalgia, stillness, hope. But, at the same time there’s a poignant melancholy and a sense that life passes by in a fleeting moment. When you are sitting and dreaming amidst the Fall beauty, there’s nothing better to have in hand than a Pumpkin Spice White Mocha. But, we’ll get to that in a minute.

With a 3 year old girl and a 3 month old boy at home, these joyful and melancholy feelings are stronger for me this year than ever before in my life. I wish I could bottle the feeling of holding my babies, that I could forever memorize the toothless smiles. These days of perfect cool weather, when our family is just in our backyard, and our dog is running around with my husband and daughter while I nurse my baby boy – these days are the golden days I want to forever hold in my heart.

And, somehow, Autumn is the season that holds the special magic to both evoke these memories, and perhaps also to store them in a special place in my heart. It seems like this season is intended for us to sit, ponder, and grab hold of these moments.
So, this is a post about Pumpkin White Mocha recipe – right? Yes. So, what gives with the philosophical ramblings? Well, I’m glad you asked. You see, this drink is one I’ve actually had in my repertoire for several years now. It was around since before my daughter was born, and, to this day, is one I make every single Fall without fail. It isn’t just delicious – it is the one drink that, for me, sinks easily into the warm, the melancholy, the happy moments, and somehow meets you wherever you’re at.
Dramatic, right? But it’s so true. Are you looking for a hug from your bestie in a cup? Well, you found it.
